JUST WAIT - a $1000 scholarship - a positive answer to the alcohol, tobacco, and drug problem

Fixed Biological Temperament - Demonstrated

During this demonstration process, you will come to understand your fixed biological temperament, and understand that you have had this temperament as long as you can remember.  Your fixed biological temperament is ALWAYS present in time of stress, it may not be present in period of non stress.

You use your temperament in your career, your work, your business, your investments, your family relationships and your health.  It effects every part of your life.  The more a person understands their  fixed biological temperament,  the more their quality of life will improve.

The reason for this improvement is that you will start to use your temperament at the right time, with the right person, in the right situation and to the right degree.   By doing so, you will get different results.

If you do not understand your temperament, you will continue to do what you have been doing and you will continue to get what you have been getting.

There are three phases to determining your fixed biological temperament

Phase I:  Rate the following paragraphs on your "gut feeling."

Rate according to what has been the general thrust of your life.

Rate the paragraph on the feeling of the whole paragraph, not on the individual elements of it.

Rate each of the following paragraphs (use rating form at bottom of this page)

according to how you have been most of your life according to the following scale.

1.   Not at All True

2.   Seldom True

3.   Somewhat True

4.   Generally True

5.   Very True

Phase II:  Based on the rating you give each of the following paragraph you will be sent additional questions to rate with the same rating system.

Phase III:  You will have a choice, you can select to receive a written report, or to participate in have a half hour interactive interview with one of Just Wait’s Facilitators.  They will answer all of your questions and give you all of the details of your fixed biological temperament.

_____  T.      I have tended to be fairly independent and assertive: I've felt that life works best when you meet it head-on.  I set my own goals, get involved, and want to make things happen.  I don't like sitting around.   I want to achieve something and have an impact.  I don't necessarily seek confrontations, but I don't let people push me around, either.  Most of the time I know what I want and I go for it.  I tend to work hard and to play hard.

Things people might  say about me.

1.      I am a go-getter and high-energy person.

2.      Outwardly expressive and personable, but inner attitude is impersonal.

3.      Task-oriented.

4.      Tend to stir the pot..

5.      Bring zest and vitality to life.

6.      Do not like being emotional.

The Strengths of this temperament: the ability to dismiss personal offenses, remains optimistic, and prevent negative feelings in one situation from contaminating another.

One of my mottos might be:

 “Ready! Fire! Aim!”

”Just do it”

 “Reality, What a concept!”

 “Let’s take a flyer”;

“My way or the highway.”;

“If a little bit is good, a whole bunch is better”,

_____ W.       I have tended to be quiet and am used to being on my own.  I usually don't draw much attention to myself socially.  It is generally unusual for me to assert myself all that forcefully.  I don't feel comfortable taking the lead or being as competitive as others.    I can be quite content without having to active all the time.

You  tend to:

1.      Tend toward inactivity; do only what I like.

2.      Lack confidence –do more thinking, feeling, and talking than actual doing.

3.      Consider myself the final authority on everything important to me.  I  can be condescending.

4.      Appreciate intricacy.  I ponder life, think and feel my way through life.

5.      Rationalize my  way out of difficult situations.

6.      Promote a slightly eccentric image.

7.      Propose “enlightened solutions.”

8.      Live the inner life as if it were life in the real world.

9.      Protect self by being internally detached from the world and people.

10. Feel anxiety about self and repress hostility.

The Strengths of this temperament:  Insightful perception of the subtle complexities underlying complicated ideas or interpersonal relationship.

One of your mottos might be::

 “Let it be”

“Don’t push the river”

“Live and let live”

“I think, therefore I am”

“knowledge is power”

“It’s not enough that we should succeed, but our enemies must also fail”

”Beauty is truth, truth and beauty, that is all you know on earth, and all you need to know.”

_____ C.        I tend to be extremely responsible and dedicated.  I feel terrible if don't keep my commitments and do what's expected of me.  I want people to know that I'm there for them and that I'll do what I believe is best for them.. I've often made great personal sacrifices for the sake of others, whether they know it or not.  I often don't take adequate care of myself — I do the work that needs to be done and relax.

Things that people would say about you:

1.      High standards for self.

2.      Others may set your their agenda.

3.      Lack the “big picture” – seeing consequences, planning, assessing goals – and need others to give them direction.

4.      Have tenacity for the project right in front of you.  The tyranny of the immediate.

5.      Opinionated regarding your values.

6.      Have a difficult time being direct.

7.      Tend to be unforgiving when crossed.  Overvalue others - undervalue self.

8.      Protect self by being involved with the world and people.

The Strengths of this temperament: respect for others, the desire to relate rather that isolate, championing the basic moral values of society.

One of your mottos might be:

“I’d rather be right than President”

 “Zero defects”

“Applause and the recognition it represents are among the world’s most powerful forces”

”I am needed”

“It’s not what you say that counts, it’s what you don’t say”

”Be prepared”;

_____ CO.     I deal with difficulty by putting aside my feelings and striving to be objective, effective, and competent.  I put your feeling on the back burner.  I solve problem logically and expect others to do the same

I tend to be self-controlled and logical—I am uncomfortable dealing with feelings.  I am efficient, at times even a perfectionist, and I prefer working on my own.   When there are problems or personal conflicts, I try not to bring my feelings into the situation.  Some say I'm too cool and detached, but I don't want my emotional reactions to distract me from what's really important to me.  I usually don't show my reactions when others "get to me."

_____ RA.     I react emotionally to conflicts and problems.  I have difficulties knowing how much to trust other people. I have a fear of being betrayed and feedback from people in order to know where others stand with me.

I am a person who has strong feelings about things—most people can tell when I'm unhappy about something.  I can be guarded with people, but I'm more sensitive than I let on.  I want to know where I stand with others and who and what I can count on — it's pretty clear to most people where they stand with me.  When I'm upset about something, I want others to respond and to get as worked up as I am.  I know the rules, but I don't want people telling me what to do.  I want to decide for myself.

.

_____ PO.     I respond to conflict and difficulty by adopting a POsitive attitude.  Reframing disappointment, looking at the bright side, I am a morale builder who enjoy helping other people feel good because I want to feel good yourself.

I am a person who usually maintains a positive outlook and feels that things will work out for the best.  I can usually find something to be enthusiastic about and different ways to occupy myself.  I like being around people and helping others to be happy — I enjoy sharing my own well-being with them.  However, staying positive has sometimes meant that I've put off dealing with my own problems for too long.
