ArticlesThe 2006 Wooden Boat Show and Crab Feed on April 22 and 23 at harbor-side in downtown Depoe Bay! Enjoy wonderfully delicious crab dinners at the Community Hall just north of the harbor, and stroll through our harbor and view more than 50 wooden boats of all kinds on display, and demonstrations that will delight all! Both days are filled with activities for kids of all ages.
Crab Feed at the Community Hall 11am to 5pm Full Crab Dinner $14.00 Half Crab Dinner $10.00 Full Crab to go $10.00 Half Crab to go $7.50 Boat Show at Bay Front 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Demonstration and "talk" schedules to be posted and announced at the event Boat exhibitors will display up to 50 handcrafted boats of original and classed designs. Several classic motorized and sailboats are also scheduled to be shown. Displays will be located on the harbor parking lot (next to Dockside Charters), or in the water moored at dock 3. Boat exhibitors are planning to give both formal and informal presentations of boat-building techniques, boat renovation history, hull and power plant design, etc. Youngsters will be able to build their own model boats under adult supervision and there will be rowing races for all age groups. Many demonstrations, including kayak rolling, steam bending and seat caning, construction methods of rowing shells with sliding seats, and wood strip boat construction, are planned. The Coast Guard will offer boat tours and videos. There will be a Crab Race for the kids, the annual Ducky Derby and much more. Fresh crab will be on sale at the Community Hall and refreshments will be available at the Rowing Club Food Booth.
